Exercise doesn’t have to be boring. There’s unlimited activities you and your family can do to get some movement. Go cycling, kick the soccer ball, head down to the beach or start family yoga sessions (it’s a thing).
Family fun time.
Family time doesn’t always have to be cramped around the TV. Dust off the board games with added elements of movement, host dance competitions, wrestle, race, charades, tag. Wii sports. Get inventive and get them involved by making them gamemaster for the night.
Talk about health at the dinner table.
It doesn’t have to be a taboo subject. In fact, the more healthy habits the little ones pick up early in life the better off they’ll be later. Make the conversation fun, ask questions and see if you can get them to answer, “What are you 5 favourite vegetables, and why?”
Lead from the front
You are the head of the household and need to lead by example. Even if they aren’t immediately on board, be diligent in your lifestyle and keep doing your thing. Don’t push too hard. Eventually, they will come around.
